The World Hoop Day Organization has been dedicated to bringing dance, exercise and toy hoops to under-priviledged children living in extreme poverty and under-developed neighborhoods around the world since 2007. This year will mark the third year of Edmonton's participation in World Hoop Day, which is scheduled to take place on November 11, 2011. A hoop drive will take place on the evening of the event, calling for donations of new and/or gently used hula hoops to be donated to local children in need of sports equipment through schools and after school programs (details to be announced). www.worldhoopday.org
